What other articles are planned for the Manual of style? Can this be renamed to simply "Manual of style", since this article encompasses the entire Manual of style? —  Melofors  TC  02:30, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Rows between text

I've noticed lots of pages aren't uniform in how they treat rows between text. I want a rule to standardize how this should be dealt with. So for example, some pages will write out the text right after the end of a template, or hop down a step and continue. This seems to have something with people not editing the source (as they should). I'll visualize this since my writing may be hard to understand:

Type 1: }}Hello world!

Type 2: }} Hello world!

There will be no difference when reading the wiki normally when this is done. The difference is only visible when viewing through source. However, when used after a template, it will make a blank space over the text. Similar things are also done with headings. Just replace the template end (}}) with "==". I think that type 1 is superior as it shrinks the article's total size, making more text and media available on the screen. Another visualization, view these two revisions pages: with the blank space, and without.

TL;DR: People who click on "Edit" instead of "Edit source" are irrelevant. -ElliotRodger523 (talk) 23:45, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

The difference between those two styles is negligible to the reader, adding a rule to that regard would merely serve to bloat the rules page with almost no tangible payoff. The correct page for this discussion is in any case 2b2t Wiki:Titles and article organization, and not the rules page. If you wish to continue this discussion, please kindly migrate there.

Sorry. I've migrated and signed the post. I'd say standardizing this would make the wiki look more professional, and would actually do something (compress more text onto the screen), so there is a "tangible payoff." While it isn't a major issue, it does also look like an eyesore whenever there's a dent on top of a page when going from page to page. -ElliotRodger523 (talk) 09:07, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Move this page to 'Manual of style' (lowercase)

(To follow the rule of the first sections of the 2b2t Wiki:Manual of Style)
